So roughly 43 years All I had to do was hook it to the computer that I last synced it to and hit sync. It then stated that the passcode was required. I hit the home button on the phone and it was back to the passcode screen. I put the code in and was good to go. There is no need to do DFU mode or any of that. No need to wipe it or even lose your jailbreak if you have it. It just loads right up. You do have to make sure it's the computer you originally synced it with.
A different computer doesn't seem to work. I tried that first. It worked!!!! I tried just about everything before this post. Did not want to do a full restore. The key here is to use the same computer that it was originally synced with as stated. I tried forever on my current computer.
I had to pull out my old laptop and instantly all was fixed!!! Thank you so much. This totally worked for me too! My daughter didn't want to lose her photos and videos and the Windows option wasn't working. Thankfully, I kept scrolling down and found your post.
I didn't complete the restore and restarted the ipod again and then went to the laptop I normally back it up too and it is back to normal!!!! I have seen relative success with Apple's support staff being understanding off such issues and allowing you to essentially re-download your music onto another device preferably this time a computer. I was sitting here looking for answers because I also was having that problem disabled ipod..
I plugged my ipod to the computer and turned it off. Thinking I was going to have a Whole lot to do I braced myself for being "Frustrated". But when my ipod came back on it asked for a password and went back to normal! Turn it off 2. Plug to computer 3. Turn back on while plugged to computer. There are ways of getting in and out of recovery without a restore I think if I remember right you go into dfu and then do the steps in reverse. You can try but I dont know what this will do getting your phone into force restore mode and then taking it out- its pretty dangerous though but it saved me from restoring mine.
After a few seconds you should see the connect to iTunes image you can now let go of the home button. Hey I had the same problem and all i did was hook it up to my computer, open the files on my computer [windows] and it worked. Not profound, but works. My name is danny too and i feel for you bro. If you encrypt an iPod touch backup on iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you forget the password, you can continue to back up and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync.
Use redsn0w for restore that is similar like happens with my iPod 3 gen so I restore with redsn0w and without problems I restore it. Use redsn0w that is like happen with my iPod 3 but my is 22 million I fix it restoring with redsn0w and without problems am already using my iPod only you most put your iPod on DFU mode and download the ipsw and restore and use your iPod maybe you lose your files but you can use your iPod again without wait 40 years XD.
If you encrypt an iPad backup on iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable. Mason Schmidgall. These solutions would work but I found a better one. See I had the same problem myself and all I did was wait 24 hours and it automatically fixed itself. Also I would like to say that formatting your ipod does not delete your purchases. In the iTunes Store just go to More Please note that some save data for the apps will be lost after format unless the app was compatable with iCloud.
So, if you go to a Wi-Fi network you have previously set up with your iPod, then it should fix. Ok no worries this happened to me all u have to do is got to settings general date and time set it 3 years ahead then go to restrictions and u can now put your pass code in.
You have been locked out permanently but if it says restore on the computer in iTunes before you press restore their eill be a option that says Check for Update click that and update after it updates then restore it. It worked for me it is just a software glitch. If this does't Bring it to an apple store see what they have to say. If that does't work just see a professional. Tony Tempesto. FIXED the easiest way to fix an iPod a iPhone or a iPad disabled for 15 years Follow carefully plug your iDevice into iTunes then hit the sync button at the bottom right corner of the screen then The disable screen should go allowing you to access you iDevice DONE if you have any problems please contact me Thanks Everyone!!!!
Now it's really hard to do this. You can't just hold the sleep button or reset it or log into your computer and open your files. You have to go onto your computer and then download iTunes on it.
Just make sure that when your iPod first tells you that it's disabled for 45 years, you fix it. Because they will have most likely come out with an update mine did and you will have to update the iPod from inside your computer.
Then after that's finished it only gets more complicated. It's not worth "seeing a pro" or spending dollars to get it checked out. All they are going to do is what you can do at your desktop. In other words, just download iTunes onto your Windows or if you have a Mac then iTunes should already be installed.
Have fun messing around with it! Lol good luck. If I did it then you can do it. Can this work for ipod touch 6th generation? It hasn't told me that it has been disabled for 45 years or anything like that.
It told me to just connect to iTunes which has been recently updated btw , and when i did, a notification came up saying, "iTunes could not connect to iPod Touch because it is locked with a passcode.
You must enter your passcode on the iPod touch before it can be used with iTunes. Please help :. I have the same issue on my sons iPod 2nd Gen, I think. He has photos of his grandmother that had passed away recently that he went to get off of his iPod and got "try again in 47 years " 24,, minutes.
Tried everything listed above and nothing has worked. Don't want to restore it until we can get his photos off of it. Couldn't care less about the apps or the device, just want the photos. Anyone else come up with a solution for this issue? Fix Your Stuff Community Store. Back Answers Index.
